Maserati MC 12 – Symbol of Beautiful Bologna City

Isn’t it a useful name to listen to Maserati? But really Maserati, not a pagger in the car field. With a history of over 105 years, Maserati is considered as the top company in the automobile world. I would like to post a short note about the first Maserati company to be introduced to this vehicle.

The company was founded in 1914 by 5 brothers (Maserati brothers), Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, Ernesto in Bologana, Italy. Started with the original manufacturing cars with 4,6,8 and 16 cylinders and Alfieri Maserati won the Targa Florio (a contest in an open road) in a Maserati car in 1926.

The trident symbol used as the logo of this vehicle has been built on the Fountain of Neptune, a water flower built near Piazza Maggiore square in Bologana City. (Neptune has the Roman gods the Trident). The symbol is a reflection of the strength, elegance, and fortune that Maserati has. Maserati, which manufactured only racing cars due to oil crisis that affected Europe in 1973, is facing a financial crisis. But with the support of the Italian government, they have started manufacturing road production cars again and again due to various crises, they have to repeatedly manufacture under the ownership of companies like Fiat, Ferrari, Citron, De thomaso.

In 1957 they were decided to leave the racing competition, which was considered a fatal accident during an open road race. The accident is known as the Guidizzolo tragedy and the accident occurred in 1957 during the car race called Mille Miglia. Here is a rider named De Portago’s Ferrari 335 S that was used to mark the middle of the road with a cat’s eye (a device fitted on the road) and a tyre exploded in the direction of those who were watching the race due to exploding a tire in the direction of those who were watching the race and 12 including the driver. Some people lost their lives. The accident is considered one of the unfortunate accidents in car racing history, and also stopped car races in Italy for years. However, the Maserati launched various sport vehicles after quitting racing matches, the MC 12 is the one who is the successful car after 37 years.

The body of this car and the chassis, engine is a lot of relief to the Ferrari Enzo. The MC 12 can be introduced as a vehicle longer and wider than Enzo. Ferrari is known as the elder sister of Enzo car (Elder sister) due to a car owned by Maserati.

The vehicle has been given a unique shape than the first Maserati cars and the maximum speed is 330 km/h. It only takes 3.8 seconds to arrive at 0 to 100 speed for the MC12 which is powered by a 12 cylinder V12 engine. Also here features the right side of the Italy flag is symbolized and the engine is manufactured to the middle part of the vehicle. Ground clearance is at a very low level and thereby the handling of the vehicle is at a very high level. But the engine is completely separated in the back here and can’t see a rear windscreen. Accordingly, the side mirrors with extensions are installed so that the rear can be seen very clearly.

In the Maserati world, engine sound is known as loud cars and Maserati vehicles are capable of getting the attention of anyone travelling on the road. So if you see a Maserati car on the road, don’t forget to listen to the engine sound.
