2000 Audi Rosemeyer Concept (Hidden Future Plans to the Past)

Audi Rosemeyer is a car that was unveiled in the year 2000 at the Autostadt in Wolfsburg as a tribute to the cars known as ‘Silver Arrow’ used for the famous car races of the 1930s by the German Audi company two decades ago.

The Projekt Rosemeyer was produced with prominent features familiar to the Silver Arrow cars, including the massive radiator grille and the long metal hood covering the front-to-back engine with its vertical air intakes reminiscent of the historic Auto Union ‘Silver Arrow’ car.

Audi engineers decided to give the Rosemeyer a large-capacity sixteen-cylinder engine (produced by the Bugatti company) typical of the silver arrow cars that drove legendary drivers such as Bernd Rosemeyer and Tazio Nuvolari to victories.

The Audi is produced in such a way that the vertically shaped air intakes that feature at every point in the design study’s aluminum body appear to be a key feature, and the aerodynamically shaped nose is also produced in such a way that the headlamps focus squarely on the path. Compact and powerful xenon headlights are mounted behind a clear glass cover. When the headlights are on, the metal panels (flush-fitting metal panels) that slide up are produced in such a way as to protect the lights behind.
